A SWISS INITIATIVE FOR POETIC LIFE

Collecting Otherwise (Musarthis Art Gallery)
A collection takes shape through recognition. One work calls to another, and gradually a landscape appears. In this space, artworks do not accumulate; they gather, they converse, they form an inner architecture. Collecting becomes a way of shaping a world that reflects a gaze, a sensibility, a way of inhabiting presence and thought.

Collecting Otherwise
Building an inner world through artworks
A collection begins with an inner movement. The gaze settles on a work, a subtle stirring appears, an affinity takes shape. This moment belongs to recognition. A work finds its place because it answers an already existing inner landscape. M.A.G embraces this way of collecting as a form of sensitive architecture, a way of ordering the space of the mind through the presence of artworks.
A painting, a photograph, or a work of material opens a space. An artwork offers an inner room, a place to which the gaze returns, where thought circulates, where emotion takes form. Collecting becomes an act of arrangement, comparable to the creation of a library, a garden, or a cabinet of curiosities. Every choice draws a map, every hanging establishes a relation, every ensemble reveals a vision of the world.
M.A.G stands within this understanding of the act of collecting. The gallery regards each artwork as a presence that enters into dialogue with the life of the person who welcomes it. A collection takes shape through affinities, through correspondences, through successive impulses. Works respond to one another, materials recognize one another, artists’ gestures enter into conversation. Gradually, an inner world comes into being, rich in its singularities, sustained by the diversity of artistic languages.
This approach reveals the gallery as a space of transmission. M.A.G accompanies works along their paths, illuminating their origins, their processes, their sensitive dimensions. The gallery’s journal, its curatorial texts, and the perspectives offered on the artists extend this relationship. A work carries a story, a thought, a creative breath that deepens with time.
Within this dynamic, the collector becomes a guardian of presences. A work finds a place where it may exist, unfold, and continue its sensitive life. The collection transforms into an intimate constellation, a living ensemble that reflects a singular relationship to the world, to beauty, to matter, and to spirit.
M.A.G cultivates this vision with delicacy and precision. The gallery offers works capable of inhabiting both a living space and an inner space over time. Collecting thus becomes a poetic practice, a way of enriching daily life through the presence of artworks that open, accompany, and uplift.
A collection becomes a world in its own right, an intimate territory shaped by artworks, an inner geography in which contemporary creation finds its full place.
