Our Curatorial Approach

Musarthis Art Gallery supports artistic practices that carry depth, coherence and a strong inner direction. The gallery positions itself as a curatorial and cultural partner, cultivating relationships grounded in clarity, respect and intellectual presence.

Its approach is guided by elegance, inclusivity, modernity and poetic resilience — values that shape the way artists, works and audiences encounter one another within the gallery’s ecosystem.

The gallery welcomes artists at different stages of their journey. What matters is not status or trend, but the quality of the artistic voice and the integrity of the work. The gallery values diverse artistic trajectories and perspectives, and considers each practice within its own integrity.

Particular attention is given to works that engage deeply with human, aesthetic or existential questions, whether through material exploration, conceptual depth or sensory presence.

The number of artists presented by the gallery remains intentionally limited, in order to preserve a high level of curatorial attention and meaningful presence.

From Switzerland to the world, Musarthis Art Gallery develops a contemporary curatorial framework rooted in these principles.

Selection Process

Artists may be invited by the gallery or may submit a portfolio for consideration.

The review process focuses on:

• coherence and consistency of artistic practice

• clarity of intention

• integrity of the visual and conceptual approach

• professionalism in communication and collaboration

Each application receives considered attention. A selection may then lead to further dialogue with the artist.

The absence of selection never reflects a judgement of artistic worth. It simply expresses the curatorial direction of the gallery at a given moment.

Collaboration & Representation

Collaboration with Musarthis Art Gallery does not automatically create an exclusivity agreement.
Any form of exclusivity must be defined and confirmed in writing.

The gallery supports artists through:

• curatorial guidance and positioning

• communication

• exhibition opportunities where applicable

• presence within the gallery’s ecosystem, including the M.A.G Journal

The rhythm and format of collaboration are defined on a case-by-case basis in dialogue with the artist.
Professional courtesy, reliability and clarity of communication are essential values within the gallery’s collaborations.

Sales & Commission

When an artwork is sold through Musarthis Art Gallery, the gallery receives a commission of 15 % of the final sale price.

This commission contributes to:

• curatorial work

• communication and visibility

• administration and coordination

• exhibition organisation where applicable

The remaining 85 % is paid to the artist.

Payments are made once the gallery has received full funds from the collector or institution. Clear documentation accompanies every sale.

Copyright & Artist Rights

Copyright and all intellectual property rights always remain with the artist.

Submitting a portfolio, being selected, exhibited or represented by the gallery does not transfer any copyright, ownership or licensing rights to Musarthis Art Gallery.

Use of Images and Video Content

Within the collaboration, the artist grants the gallery a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the images and video material transmitted by the artist, strictly for communication purposes relating to the gallery, including:

• the gallery’s website

• social media managed by the gallery

• catalogues (digital or printed)

• press communication initiated or coordinated by the gallery

• exhibition-related announcements and documentation

• institutional and curatorial communication about the gallery’s activities

This licence:

• is granted for the duration of the collaboration and continues thereafter, in order to preserve the gallery’s communication history and archives

• does not transfer copyright

• does not allow commercial reproduction or exploitation

• does not authorise any use unrelated to the gallery’s communication activities

Any use outside this framework will require a separate written agreement.
